About — Daniel Derdula

Daniel Derdula is an artist photographer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. He studied visual communication and photography at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s Institute of Design, and holds a degree in art history from Arizona State University. Additionally he has a background in the performing arts as both a dancer and stage designer.

Personal Statement

Drawing on memories and experiences gained living in the desert southwest and rural northern California, my work is a response to both the subtle and profound environmental changes occurring around us as well as a reflection on how these changes affect the ways we perceive and represent the natural world.
